Summer is finally here and it’s time to celebrate! From sand castle building contests to competing in the ultimate beach ball volley contest, no summer celebration is complete without sun, sand and waterslides! Bring your grass skirt and Hawaiian shirt as we learn to hula dance and perfect our limbo technique. We will enjoy a beach luau and picnic here at LLC Island on Friday, May 31 as we launch fun in the sun during our Summer 2019 Unplugged Challenge!
Week 2: Bike Week (June 3-June 7)
Calling all bikers! Whether you drive a tricked out trike or a two wheeler, bring your bike to camp as we rock out with the ultimate bike week for kids! In addition to getting quality time with our rides, campers will get to choose their cause and participate in a ride-a-thon style event. Armed with a passion for what’s important to them, our bikers will learn the importance of supporting a cause greater than one’s self and create an action plan to showcase their cause. We will bring our bikes with us on a ride through the park in honor of the cause each camper has chosen to support as we learn how to get active while giving back in our Summer 2019 Unplugged Challenge!
Week 3: Pony-Palooza (June 10-June 14)*
Got a passion for ponies? Horse crazy girls and boys will love a week immersed in everything equestrian! In focused equestrian time, learn proper grooming and handling, how to tack up your own horse, appropriate mount and dismount techniques including emergency dismount, and basic riding commands, and navigation around obstacles. Experience the great feeling that only comes with a job well done as we take care of these majestical creatures and learn how to feed our horses, take care of their bedding and clean a stall, maintain clean water troughs, keep a tidy barn, and learn how to do a proper tack safety inspection! Bring your blue jeans and your cowboy boots Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday because we’ll be taking trips to Lazy Quarters Horse Farm to meet the horses first hand and learn all about what it takes to run a horse farm as we get outdoors and enjoy connecting with horses in our Summer 2019 Unplugged Challenge.
Week 4: Ninja Warrior (June 17-June 21)*
What does it take to be a Ninja Warrior? Good fitness practices and a quick wit make for a superior athlete! The only person we are competing against is our self and we are excited about phys ed and motivated to perform our best in order to achieve our best time and our best performance. Get ready as we hone our fitness to overcome physical obstacles and tune up our minds for the mental challenge. Are you up for it? Our Ninjas will show off their skills on the Ninja Extreme Course set up right here on campus as we combine physical aptitude with mental agility and rise to the Summer 2019 Unplugged Challenge!
Week 5: Shipwrecked (June 24- June 28)
Come on an island adventure as we team up to survive marooned at sea! Throughout the week, campers will learn survival skills, use a compass, treasure hunt, make our own “island” food, compete in water games, make a primitive shelter, role play a rescue mission, experiment with homemade fishing poles, learn to cast net and ultimately take a field trip to test our fishing skills and enjoy a beach picnic while getting back to basics in our Summer 2019 Unplugged Challenge!
Week 6: Red, White and You (July 1- July 3)
closed Thursday and Friday in observation of Independence Day
Why do we celebrate the Fourth of July and why is it significant to our American culture? Celebrate in a traditional American style with picnics, relay races, and loads of outdoor fun (did someone day BBQ?) Don’t forget we are closed Thursday and Friday!
Week 7: Christmas in July (July 8 – July 12)
Spend the week exploring the true spirit of Christmas, doing for others! This week we will get back to basics with no expectation of Santa making our toys wishes come true. Capturing the spirit of the festive season we will build a snowman, cook up seasonal favorites, create holiday crafts as décor and as gifts to others, and compete in ginger bread house construction. This week we are taking up a toy collection of gently enjoyed items that may have been outgrown and repurposing them in our very own Santa’s Workshop where our campers will create their own storefront and host a sale. Our elves will enjoy a Secret Santa celebration and have the opportunity to shop for a friend and make wishes come true. We end the week by donating to those in need and taking a trip to fight hunger in our community by volunteering at Feeding Tampa Bay. We know Christmas isn’t complete without a good old fashioned snow ball battle and will have a blast with making snowballs as a special treat, in our Summer 2019 Unplugged Challenge!
Week 8: Slime Camp (July 15 – July 19)

Week 9: Escape Room (July 22 – 26)*
Channel your own puzzle solving skill powers this week while you hone your ability to be an escape artist. Team up to create your “story room”, design your challenge, choose your puzzles and try to keep your friends from escaping in the Escape Room Challenge. Campers will field trip to a local escape room to learn the rules of the game and test their escape skills!
