Covid-19 Adjustments
This pandemic has necessitated constant changes to the way we conduct business. Hopefully, we will eventually be able to return to a more open environment to allow more parent participation in our program and bring more opportunities to our children. Below are some of the changes to the previous CDC recommendations.
We are opening our school up to parents again, finally! We are not requiring masks however we will help your child be successful wearing one if that is your choice. We are not requiring Covid vaccinations. Again, we feel this is best left to parental discretion.
We are continuing the carline check-in/out for convenience. Parents sign child in/out using the Brightwheel App allowing touchless sign in/out. Parents attest on the app there has been no exposure or symptoms. Temperatures are monitored at check-in and no child measuring 99 degrees will be allowed to stay. Hands are sanitized at check-in. Children are monitored throughout the day for symptoms.
We are still limiting as much as possible activities exposing children to community events and involvement to reduce potential exposure. We are hoping to resume field trips in the 2022-23 school year but that is yet to be determined. Awards programs, class performances and such are videoed to share with parents.
Meals are no longer family style. Plates are prepared for the children to limit cross contamination.
We are constantly disinfecting. Materials and surfaces are sanitized throughout the day as well as the building is fogged each evening.
Parents are notified of any potential exposure and are required to report exposure within their circle of family and friends. We have been blessed to have had no Covid transmissions within our program. This is truly because our parents have been extremely diligent about keeping children home with the slightest indication of potential illness.
We will get through this and hope to return to normal soon.
Thank you,
The Lutz Learning Center Team
