Summer is finally here and it’s time to celebrate with some good old fashioned farm fun!! From visiting various types of farming to setting up our own farmer’s market and of course enjoying a farm style Hoe Down right here at school!
Week One - From design to construction we will re-create farm life and focus on behind the scenes of “farming” life. What does it take to be a farmer? What tools and animals are on a farm? What kind of farms are there? This week we’ll visit a real horse farm to meet the horses, take a field trip to research and start our own summer garden, host a hoedown on campus, and cool off with a huge waterslide!
Week Two – Why is the role of the Farmer important? What does it take to successfully grow and harvest a crop? This week we’ll get back to basics and learn firsthand what goes into the food that ends up on our table. We’ll investigate which local u-picks have produce in season & sample various recipes that encourage healthy eating habits. We'll purchase our own produce and launch our very own Farmer’s Market so be ready to buy your produce from our entrepreneurs. This week is sure to be delicious as we host a very special culinary event with our produce!
Week 3 & 4: Adventure Camp (June 8-June 19) $135 per week + trip fee
Come on an outdoor adventure as we team up to discover the wonder and challenges of the natural environment. Our first week focuses on all the skills necessary for survival, food, shelter, water, and safety, while our second week focuses on the physical fitness skills necessary to survive.
Week Three - Every aspect of adventure and exploration is fun! We'll experience everything from learning about birds and trees in the wild to using a compass, pitching a tent and surviving in the woods. Our camp fort is sure to be a double dose of fun! Throughout the week we will trek through the local woods, hiking, exploring and learning the essentials of survival while we end our week making our own “camp” food in a challenge to test our new skills.
Week Four - From fitness courses at local parks to a challenging rope course field trip, our campers will be working on agility to become a superior athlete! The only person we are competing against is our self as we get motivated with the goals of achieving our best time and performance in the challenges throughout the two weeks. Are you up for honing your fitness to overcome physical obstacles and tune up for the challenge? Our Adventurers will show off their skills on the Parkour Course set up right here on campus as we combine physical aptitude with mental agility! *$35 field trip fee to attend Tree Hoppers
Week 5 & 6: Flip Flops, Flamingos & Florida (June 22-July 2) $135 per week, closed Friday 7.3 in observance of Independence Day,
Our campers will enjoy a special mixer/taste test of all the fun you can have in our home state of Florida! From a sprinkler party, to building ships for a float race, these two weeks are filled with waterslide bounce houses and slip and slides and we are just getting started!
Week Five - From sandcastle building contests to competing in the ultimate beach ball volley contest, no Florida celebration is complete without sun, sand and water! Let’s experiment with homemade fishing poles, learn to cast net and ultimately take a field trip to test our fishing skills while enjoying a riverfront picnic as well as a wet bounce house slide!
Week Six - Why do we celebrate the Fourth of July and why is it significant to our Floridian culture? Celebrate in a traditional Floridian style with picnics, relay races, and loads of outdoor fun (did someone day BBQ?) Bring your flip flops and Florida shirt as we enjoy a beach luau and cookout here at LLC. Don’t forget we are closed Friday!
Week 7 & 8: Slime & Science (July 6 -July 17) $135 per week

Week Seven- Have fun with flubber and have a blast with gak as we create, explore and enjoy all the slime recipes that can be found on the internet, including some of our very own top secret tried and true concoctions. Did you know slime can bounce? How far can it ooze? We’ll find out as our Mad Scientists team up for experiments and trials in Slime Wars, may the best Slimer win!
Week Eight- Now that we have master experimenting with slimy fun, let's see what else we can conjure up using everyday household items for experiments. We promise not to blow up the place, just the fun factor. A Wet Bounce House Slide Is scheduled!
Week 8 & 9: Flintstones vs Jetsons (July 20- July 31) $135 per week
We'll go back in time to explore caveman life and hone our thinking skills to compare and contrast what life might really have been like vs how The Flintstones presented it. We'll do the same thing with analyzing The Jetsons vs what we have today.
Week Nine- Who were the Flintstones on screen & how did their lifestyle compared with real stone-age people as we understand them today. We'll learn about primitive life while honing our skills of comparing and contrasting. Also, did we mention dinosaurs? We end the week with a trip to DinoWorld.
Week Ten- Who were The Jetsons? We'll compare & contrast the lifestyle they demonstrated with life today. How many of the "futuristic widgets" have actually come to fruition? We'll predict & design our own ideas for up & coming gadgets like the “TV Watch” seen in an episode where Elroy’s friend got in trouble for watching the billionth episode of the Flintstones in class. Mark your calendars to visit us during our High Tech Invention Convention as our campers launch their products into Kickstarter mode.
