Philosophy

Lutz Learning Center firmly believes children are intellectually capable of far more than society recognizes. We believe children are a product of their environment. We believe a child is capable of developing at a level typically associated with that of the gifted child when appropriately stimulated.

With this in mind, our program is designed to present information at a fast pace using an experiential method. Our program is directed toward the needs of the bright child. Learning through discovery with a fun, exciting approach that captivates the child's interest is the best way for a child to learn. Keep them involved; keep them excited; amazing things happen!

Curriculum

Lutz Learning Center has developed a science based curriculum that is truly revolutionary. Life revolves around concepts of science. We will study a category each month (life science, earth science…) and will develop knowledge through the disciplines (reading, math…) using information relating to the science theme. Reading advancement, math concepts and calculation, learning about our world and how we can have a positive impact are major goals. Children will learn to use technology daily to bring to the classroom resources beyond what is in the standard classroom textbooks. They will take field trips to relevant places that allow them to process information for themselves. They will use the public library and learn how to take advantage of all resources. Life is about learning how to find the answers no matter what the question. We want to create and develop the analytical mind of your child. Our program exceeds state educational standards by approximately two grade levels.

Enrollment

The Center operates under a non-discriminatory policy that  prohibits discrimination in all its programs, activities and hiring on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, and where applicable, sex, marital status, familial status, parental status, religion, sexual orientation, genetic information, political beliefs, reprisal, or because all or a part of an individual's income is derived from any public assistance program.

Nutrition

The Center has a strong commitment to your child’s nutrition, for this reason, all meals are included in your child's tuition. We believe “you are what you eat”. We use fresh fruits and vegetables when possible and choose organic when available. We make most of our bread and muffins from scratch. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our nutritional program and help our students learn to make healthy choices.
